Leader In Road Tunnel Lighting Control

Remote operation light measurement meters for continuous monitoring and recording of road tunnel entrance luminance and automatic On/Off lamp switching control.

Road tunnel light measuring meters and lighting control equipment manufactured in Britain by Mayer International (UK) Ltd. are installed in road tunnels throughout the world.

The road tunnel lighting control system complies fully with international standards for the lighting of road tunnels recommended and published by the C.I.E (Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage). It ensures road tunnels are adequately lit to allow vehicle drivers to enter with maximum of visual safety.

This is achieved by ensuring that illumination in a tunnel entrance threshold zone is continuously changed automatically to match the changes of exterior daytime brightness - thus avoiding drivers experiencing the hazardous ‘black hole’ effect associated with inadequately lit road tunnels.

Main components of the Mayer road tunnel lighting control system comprise:

1.
A fixed-mounted light sensor to continuously measure luminance (brightness) of the road tunnel entrance, and surrounding portal, as seen by the average human eye (Model TS-101 Luminance Photometer).
2.
A pre-settable ‘stand-alone’ controller for automated On/Off switching of luminaires in the tunnel entrance interior to accord with changes of exterior daylight levels.(System-1600 Controller.)
3.
Fixed mounted illuminance meter, for measurement and recording of illuminance (incident lighting) within the tunnel, to ensure lighting levels provided by the luminaires continuously conform to specified parameters. (Model TS-150 Illuminance Photometer).

The above three items are available as individual units or as a total road tunnel lighting control system package.
